Passover 2020

    PASSOVER  2020

    Dear Friends,

Biblical and rabbinic tradition require us to forego the consumption and even the ownership of leavened products during Passover. Foodstuffs not especially prepared kosher for Pesach made with wheat, barley, oats, spelt or rye and utensils used in their preparation are included in the ban and may not be in our possession.

We may physically dispose of all Chametz by the morning of Pesach eve or sell banned foods and utensils for the period of the holiday and lease the places where they are stored. If you would like to authorize me to act on your behalf to sell Chametz and lease spaces where it will remain stored during Passover to someone not Jewish and not limited by our traditions, please fill  the form below and deliver it by Tuesday, April 7.

With best wishes for a sweet Passover,
    Rabbi Marc Philippe

APPOINTMENT OF AGENT FOR THE SALE OF CHAMETZ

I, hereby authorize Rabbi Marc Philippe to act on my behalf, to sell all Chametz owned and possessed by me, and all utensils of every type and purpose used for the preparation and/or consumption of Chametz owned and possessed by me, and to lease all places, owned or rented by me, where such Chametz and utensils may be found. These transactions will be in effect beginning at 10:00 AM on the eve of Passover 5780, Wednesday, April 8, 2020, and continue for the duration of Passover, until 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
