Temple Emanu-El Religious School
Mission Statement:
We believe
Judaism is an ongoing search for meaning and that this search
starts in childhood. Together with family
and synagogue we must work together to nourish it. The goal
of our Religious School is to strengthen and develop a deeper
connection
with the Jewish Experience and knowledge of Judaism by creating
a love for Torah, identification with Klal Yisroel (the Jewish
people) and love for God, through involvement in the synagogue
and by participation in Jewish life.

Staff
The Religious School strives to create a rich, vibrant
learning environment in which we can nourish our children’s growing Jewish identities,
create a community of peers that is part of a larger local Jewish
community as well as the global Jewish community, and build the skills
that children will need to be participatory members as adults. The
Religious School is a place where our children can learn new skills
and ideas, struggle with questions of theology, meaning, and connection
at an age-appropriate level, and test what they’ve learned
through prayer, discussion, and interaction with our clergy and staff.
Our curriculum includes: Life Cycle, Bible, Holidays, values, Israel
and Tikun Olam. Family Explorations, synagogue services, Religious
School events, and social action projects will further enrich our
student’s Jewish education.
Our Junior Congregation meets weekly and our students play
an active role in services.
