Adult Education
Temple Emanu-El offers an array of learning opportunities for it’s eclectic congregation. If there is something that you would like to learn about, let us know and we’ll try to work it in.
Adult B’nai Mitzvah – Thursday 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Cantor Mordecai prepares adults to chant from the Torah and to lead selected prayers in our worship service. This class is currently held in the Dade County Courthouse.
Adult Hebrew:Beginning – Wednesday 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Learn the Aleph-Bet and basic prayerbook Hebrew with religious school instructor Liora Ramati.
Classical Hebrew – Thursday 11:00 am – noon
Build on basic prayerbook Hebrew with increased vocabulary and grammar. Taught by Cantor Mordecai.
Introduction to Judaism – Wednesday 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Study with Rabbi Rose to learn more about the foundation of our religious heritage. This “basics” class is for adults interested in choosing Judaism as well as Jews who want to have a better understanding of the “how’s” and “why’s”.
Lunch ‘n Learn – Rabbi Rose is available to come to your office, clubhouse, or family room for a brown-bag lunch and study session. Please call Rabbi Rose if you are interested in having him join you for this informal study and discussion opportunity.
